Old Fashioned

May’s prestigious Drink of the Month is none other than the classic “Old Fashioned”. This cocktail has the reputation of being one of the slowest drinks to serve - it has been said that it should take at least 6 minutes to prepare!

	50ml	Bourbon Whiskey
	1	Sugar Cube (or teaspoon of sugar)
	Dash	Angostura Bitters

 

 

 

The key to making this drink is to take your time. Take the sugar cube and add a few drops of Angostura Bitters so it soaks in. Slowly start adding ice cubes and the bourbon, stirring continuously. Keep adding more whiskey and more ice and keep stirring the drink.

When you have added all your whiskey and are ready to serve, garnish with a Maraschino cherry and a twist of orange peel.
