The Whisky SourWhisky Sour

A drink with a very sophisticated and sometimes acquired taste. A drink that you can start experimenting with adding different ingredient ratios to find your best. A drink to help you bring out some of the flavours of your whisky of choice. Please be introduced to: The Whisky Sour.

  50ml Whisky
  Juice of half a lemon
  1 Tablespoon of Sugar

Add the juice of half a lemon with one tablespoon of sugar (or to taste) into a tumbler along with a couple of ice cubes, then stir. When the sugar is dissolved, add a healthy measure of whisky and stir again. Velocity Bars would suggest to use an American whisky, a Bourbon, as the iodine pungency of a Scotch can get in the way of the blend of flavours.

Alternatively try a different way of making this drink - shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Or perhaps develop the flavour by adding water or soda water.
