Singapore Sling

An old favourite and one of the original great cocktails. Although funnily enough this is a twist on another popular cocktail during the early 1900's - the Gin Sling. The twist? Cherry Brandy in this version.

Add the gin, the lemon and the sugar to a hi-ball or pilsner glass and stir them together. Add several large cubes of ice, then top up with soda water, leaving a little room at the top. Slowly pour the Cherry Brandy on top of the drink which will then sink to the bottom leaving a slightly pinky trail behind. Garnish with a lemon slice and a maraschino cherry.
