Red Cloud

This month, the newsletter looks at Gin in the first of a two part special. This month, we concentrate our thoughts on the Red Cloud. A classic and glamorous 1920's drink. To receive our most up to date newsletter sign up now - it's free and full of hints, tips and a new Drink of the Month!

A red cloud at night is sailors delight…(supposedly) but this is a refreshing cocktail for anyone to enjoy. The Gin and Apricot Brandy blend together with the Grenadine to create a refreshing flavour, allowing the lemon to provide a sharper after taste.

Velocity Bars Recommended Recipe

  37.5ml Gin
  25ml Apricot Brandy
  15ml Fresh Lemon Juice
  Dash Grenadine

To make the Red Cloud, add the Gin, Apricot Brandy, 1/2 the juice of a lemon (approximately 15ml) and a dash of Grenadine to a cocktail shaker filled with hard ice cubes. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds or so. Using a strainer, pour the drink into a cocktail glass.
